An Interview with MUUD’s Wellness Experts: Chelsy Albertson
“To me, mental wellness means that I am actively investing awareness and resources into what makes me a happy and healthy person…”
How has your background and experience led you to MUUD?
Like a typical millennial, I have grown in awareness and acceptance of mental health resources throughout my 20s and 30s. At this point, mental health, wellness, and mindfulness have become fully integrated into my personal value system. When I saw the opportunity to work for a company that shares my values in mental health wellness, I jumped on it!
I was an educator for 10 years but went through a career shift during the COVID-19 pandemic. I joined the UX Design world with specific interests in accessibility, inclusivity, and critical thinking.
What does mental wellness mean to you?
To me, mental wellness means that I am actively investing awareness and resources into what makes me a happy and healthy person every day, and allowing daily silence for introspection.
What do you do as part of your wellness routine?
To ensure I am investing in my own mental wellness, I usually avail myself to nature exposure (forest bathing!), casual exercise, a sense of purpose-for-good in work, keeping an active social life, and daily silence for personal introspection.
What makes you excited to be a part of MUUD?
I’m excited to work for a company that gives me a sense of purpose. I believe that what we are developing will truly help people raise awareness of their mental health journeys and promote mindfulness. In doing so, I believe our users - and by extension, society as a whole - can be healthier, calmer, happier, and more aware of their emotions and mental wellness.
