An Interview with MUUD’s Wellness Experts: Aiwen Ji

Mental health means better awareness of my emotional state, focusing on the present, and enjoying the process. At the same time, respecting the people around me and embracing different ideas.

How has your background and experience led you to MUUD?

I graduated from Teachers College, Columbia University with a Developmental Psychology degree. It inspired me to understand users’ needs cognitively and dynamically. Before joining MUUD, I worked for an educational institution and a global technology company, dedicated to using technology to serve user’s education and life better. I was thrilled when I learned that MUUD is committed to helping people live happier, healthier lives with technologies that facilitate personal and social wellness! By serving as a user experience designer at MUUD, I will have the unique opportunity to center my designs around users to promote wellness for every user and the larger community!

What does mental wellness mean to you?

To me, mental health means better awareness of my emotional state, focusing on the present, and enjoying the process. At the same time, respecting the people around me and embracing different ideas.

What do you do as part of your wellness routine?

I usually work out for half an hour a day. Besides physical wellness, I exercise my mental wellness too. Every night before going to bed, I take 10 minutes of meditation to wind down and prepare for a good sleep. The routine gives me a good end to a day and a good start to the next day.

What makes you excited to be a part of MUUD?

MUUD has a talent pool of passionate professionals in health, science, research, and technology. I am excited to be part of MUUD to collaborate with and learn from them to grow myself with new knowledge and inspirations!
